Slavic Literatures

  • ISSN: 2950-3965
Slavic Literatures is a peer-reviewed academic periodical that publishes literary studies in English and in Russian. The journal combines special and regular issues devoted to Slavic literatures. Many journal contributions are devoted to Russian literature, but we also regularly publish and emphatically welcome research devoted to Belarusian, Bosnian, Croatian, Czech, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Polish, Ukrainian, and other Slavic literatures. Published since 1971, the journal has served as publication outlet for cardinal names in Slavic literary and cultural studies. The journal today continues to refine and broaden the field, by uniting English- and Russian-language scholarship from Central, Eastern, and Western Europe, the US, Asia, and Australia; by combining the work of talented newcomers with that of leading academics; and by welcoming methodological and disciplinary innovation. All methods and viewpoints are welcomed, provided they contribute new, original or challenging insights to the field, or use insights from young research paradigms to complicate existing thinking in Slavic literary studies.

An International Journal of Social Network Analysis Social Networks is an interdisciplinary and international quarterly. It provides a common forum for representatives of anthropology, sociology, history, social psychology, political science, human geography, biology, economics, communications science and other disciplines who share an interest in the study of the empirical structure of social relations and associations that may be expressed in network form. It publishes both theoretical and substantive papers. Critical reviews of major theoretical or methodological approaches using the notion of networks in the analysis of social behaviour are also included, as are reviews of recent books dealing with social networks and social structure. The editorial criteria for acceptance will be based on the degree to which a paper makes a broad theoretical or methodological, and empirically relevant, contribution to the study of social networks. Acceptable papers may range from abstract, formal mathematical derivations to concrete, descriptive case studies of particular social networks. The editors are therefore particularly interested in papers that attempt to uncover the processes by which social networks emerge, evolve and have consequences for other aspects of behaviour. However, for reports of empirical research results, manuscripts must contain the following: a discussion of sampling, representation, and generalizability; a substantive foundation based on the social network literature; a consideration of social network processes; and feature meaningful data.Benefits to authors We also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Societal Impacts

  • ISSN: 2949-6977
Societal Impacts is a multidisciplinary, open access, peer-reviewed journal, which publishes short, digestible articles that describe the societal impacts of ongoing research, including cultural, economic, educational, environmental, health, legal, political, social, and technological impacts. Specifically, as Societal Impacts is a Research Elements journal, authors should make direct reference to their research already published on 'conventional' Journals, or alternatively to ongoing research project(s) (e.g. Horizon Europe funded projects, etc.). In this latter case, a clear reference to the project(s) providing concise but sufficient information for the readers, should be provided. The format of an article for Societal Impacts is different from a traditional research article. Societal Impacts publishes articles that describe the societal impacts of ongoing research. We ask that the first section of the article describes the social impact that is produced, examined, or projected; that the methodology for producing, analyzing or predicting social impact is explained, and the results and implications described for a diverse audience. These papers should be a maximum of 2000 words, and authors are requested to complete the journal Specifications Table alongside their submission. The journal contributes to open science by promoting societal engagement in research and making the impacts, intent and context of research visible. It openly showcases the diverse approaches adopted by individuals working within different research fields and institutions and how these can help communities tackle local, regional, and global challenges including support for Sustainable Development Goals. The mission of Societal Impacts is to make the societal impacts of research: • Accessible: We will make your article immediately and freely accessible. • Discoverable: We will make your article easy to find and download through ScienceDirect and major research indices. • Citable: Receive recognition for your work on societal impacts with a peer-reviewed article with a distinct DOI. In addition, we will help you drive traffic to and from your article and the associated original research with linking and references. • Comprehensible: We will help you write an article that is easy to understand and interpret by informed users across all disciplines. • Reviewed: We will work with you to ensure quality publication with expert peer review. • Reproducible and reusable: We will help you detail the experimental design, materials, and methods used to collect or generate the societal impacts so that others can reproduce or reuse them. Authors are encouraged to read the Societal Impacts Submission Guidelines, written by the Co-Editors in Chief. The journal welcomes submissions from all subject areas. Authors are invited to provide: 1. Information on how the authors' work is generating and will generate societal impacts, focusing on the methodology which has and will be applied; 2. Analysis of the short-term and long-term benefits of understanding societal impacts, action to reduce adverse societal impacts, or action to generate beneficial impacts, intended to be achieved; the second is papers detailing the short-term societal impacts achieved by research conducted by the authors; 3. Description of the evidence that supports the projections, recommendations, and conclusions presented. Submissions regarding impacts from preliminary research, replication studies, proof of concept research, and negative results are also welcome, as long as they are part of an ongoing effort to achieve the stated goals of the research. Please note that Societal Impacts does not publish “any” short article; specifically, the journal does not publish: • short reviews • opinion pieces In addition, the journal will not consider individual research projects or ideas not supported by ongoing sound research activities. To be considered for publication in Societal Impacts, research projects should be supported/funded by e.g. universities, institutions, working groups, NGOs, etc and this information must be clearly provided by authors when submitting their paper.

SoftwareX

  • ISSN: 2352-7110
  • 5 Year impact factor: 3.3
  • Impact factor: 3.4
SoftwareX aims to acknowledge the impact of software on today's research practice, and on new scientific discoveries in almost all research domains. SoftwareX also aims to stress the importance of the software developers who are, in part, responsible for this impact. To this end, SoftwareX aims to support publication of research software in such a way that: The software is given a stamp of scientific relevance, and provided with a peer-reviewed recognition of scientific impact; The software developers are given the credits they deserve; The software is citable, allowing traditional metrics of scientific excellence to apply; The academic career paths of software developers are supported rather than hindered; The software is publicly available for inspection, validation, and re-use. Above all, SoftwareX aims to inform researchers about software applications, tools and libraries with a (proven) potential to impact the process of scientific discovery in various domains. The journal is multidisciplinary and accepts submissions from within and across subject domains such as those represented within the broad thematic areas below: Mathematical and Physical Sciences; Environmental Sciences; Medical and Biological Sciences; Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. Originating from these broad thematic areas, the journal also welcomes submissions of software that works in cross cutting thematic areas, such as citizen science, cybersecurity, digital economy, energy, global resource stewardship, health and wellbeing, etcetera. SoftwareX specifically aims to accept submissions representing domain-independent software that may impact more than one research domain. Domain independent underpinning software tools and technologies have for too long been underrepresented in academic literature. We wish to ensure that these software items get academic recognition and welcome submissions of software tools and services that may otherwise not have a publication home. Examples include mathematical or image processing libraries or methodologies, visualization tools, data management, etcetera. Through the quality of the description and of the (potential) impact of the software deposited we aim that significant reuse will occur both within and without the original developing domain and therefore encourage consideration of this reuse factor when submitting and in the language used within the description. Submissions to SoftwareX consist of two major parts: A short descriptive paper of 3000-word limit; An open-source software distribution with support material. Submissions are accepted only if the code/software has been made freely available. To submit please follow the Original Software Publication guidelines. For any questions contact us at: [email protected] All software publications published in SoftwareX are hosted on a repository on GitHub. A copy of the 'accepted for publication' version of software/code will be copied to the journal's GitHub repository for archiving purposes. Go to the SoftwareX GitHub repository

Spatial and Spatio-temporal Epidemiology

  • ISSN: 1877-5845
  • 5 Year impact factor: 2.7
  • Impact factor: 3.4
Spatial and Spatio-Temporal Epidemiology is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that provides a home for high quality work which straddles the areas of GIS, epidemiology, exposure science, and spatial statistics. The journal focuses on answering epidemiological questions where spatial and spatio-temporal approaches are appropriate. The methods should help to advance our understanding of infectious and non-infectious diseases in humans. The journal will also consider applications where health care provision is the focus. Coverage of veterinary topics will be included, and those with direct human health implications are especially welcome. The journal places special emphasis on spatio-temporal aspects of emerging diseases (e.g. COVID-19, avian flu, SARS), development of spatial statistical and computational methods, and novel applications of geospatial technology (e.g., GPS, GIS) for shedding insights on exposure and disease processes. The journal accepts three different types of submissions: 1. Methods papers that outline new methodology in the areas of GIS, spatial statistics, exposure science, and/or epidemiology; 2. Case Study/Applications papers where recently developed methodology is applied to novel applications with a clear exposure/disease focus; and 3. Short reports where a) they are around 4-8 text pages in length b) they focus on an important novel development and c) the development should be capable of description within the page length. Case Studies progress reports in the form of 'what we have done so far' are not acceptable as Short Reports unless they comply with b) or c) above.
