Journal of Choice Modelling

  • ISSN: 1755-5345
  • 5 Year impact factor: 3.5
  • Impact factor: 2.4
The Journal of Choice Modelling publishes theoretical and applied papers in the field of choice modelling. Papers are expected to either make a methodological contribution to the field, or to present an innovative application. The journal is not limited to one area of study, such as transport or marketing, but invites contributions from across a range of disciplines where the analysis of choice behaviour is a topic of interest. While the majority of papers focus on the use of discrete choice models, contributions looking at other methods are also welcome. Similarly, the Journal of Choice Modelling also welcomes contributions looking at survey design. In addition to standard full length research papers, JOCM also welcomes four other types of submissions:Research notesThese are shorter articles that can be technical notes addressing a specific model specification, survey design, data collection or estimation issue or discussion pieces highlighting a particular concern in applied work. No specific length limit is imposed, but potential authors may wish to look at volume 21 as an example for such articles.Research notes are subject to the normal blind refereeing process to maintain the high standards of the journal. Software papers These are papers presenting software for choice model estimation and/or application as well as packages for survey design and data collection. These need to be substantial pieces of software that either improve on existing tools available, emulate them in a different environment and are likely to lead to widespread use. This type of paper is meant to provide readers with new tools for their work, rather than serve as a marketing device. The expectation is that the vast majority of papers submitted will report on free (open access) software. While we do not rule out papers discussing commercial software, an explicit case will have to be made to the editors as to why the article is of interest to the broad JOCM readership. Software papers will be reviewed initially by associate editors who may additionally rely on the advice of other experts in the field. Data papers These are either papers reporting on innovative data collection efforts or papers describing datasets that can be used for model benchmarking. For innovative data collection papers, there is no requirement to make the data publicly available (although it is preferred) as long as the paper provides useful insights for other studies. For benchmark datasets, public access is required. Datasets can be deposited on the JOCM website, existing data repositories and/or websites administered by the authors. Long term maintenance of the sites should be guaranteed. Data papers should discuss the survey approach taken, highlight any novel elements, and in the case of data made publicly available, should include an online data dictionary. Data papers will be reviewed initially by associate editors who may additionally rely on the advice of other experts in the field. For data papers to be considered for publication, authors need to show that their work is relevant beyond their own topic area. Review papers These are full length articles that review the literature in a specific area of research within the scope of JOCM. While literature review papers are not expected to include new research, they should provide new knowledge or thinking in terms of providing insightful overviews or critiques of existing work and highlighting gaps in that work. Cross- disciplinary review papers are especially welcome. Review papers are subject to the normal blind refereeing process to maintain the high standards of the journal. Discussion papers These are full length articles that discuss current issues in choice modelling, set research agendas, or provide an outlook for the field. Cross-disciplinary review papers are especially welcome.

Journal of Contextual Behavioral Science

  • ISSN: 2212-1447
  • 5 Year impact factor: 4.3
  • Impact factor: 5
The Journal of Contextual Behavioral Science is the official journal of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS). Contextual Behavioral Science is a systematic and pragmatic approach to the understanding of behavior, the solution of human problems, and the promotion of human growth and development. Contextual Behavioral Science uses functional principles and theories to analyze and modify action embedded in its historical and situational context. The goal is to predict and influence behavior, with precision, scope, and depth, across all behavioral domains and all levels of analysis, so as to help create a behavioral science that is more adequate to the challenge of the human condition. Contextual behavioral science is a strategic approach to the analysis of human behavior that proposes the need for a multi-level (e.g. social factors, neurological factors, behavioral factors) and multi-method (e.g., time series analyses, cross-sectional, experimental) exploration of contextual and manipulable variables relevant to the prediction and influence of human behavior. The journal considers papers relevant to a contextual behavioral approach including: Empirical studies (without topical restriction - e.g., clinical psychology, psychopathology, education, organizational psychology, etc.) Brief reports on preliminary, but still impactful findings (e.g., pilot studies, cross-sectional research on psychological flexibility processes) Reviews (e.g., scoping reviews, systematic reviews, meta-analyses) Conceptual and philosophical papers on contextual behavioral science Practical innovations (descriptions of practical innovation applying contextual behavioral science) Commentaries Registered reports We are particularly interested in: Papers that examine theories and interventions based in CBS (e.g., process-based therapy, acceptance & commitment therapy, relational frame theory, functional analytic psychotherapy, compassion-focused therapy, etc...) to novel research areas with rigorous methodologies. We currently are especially interested in increasing the number of published articles on basic CBS research and translational research. Papers bridging different approaches (e.g., connecting behavioral approaches with cognitive views; or neurocognitive psychology; or evolutionary science) Papers that challenge a contextual behavioral science approach from an informed perspective Papers that are written from the perspective of and/or report data collected from diverse, underrepresented, and minoritized individuals. The journal welcomes papers written by researchers, practitioners, and theoreticians from different intellectual traditions. What is distinctive is not a narrowly defined theory or set of applied methods but whether the methodology, conceptualization, or strategy employed is relevant to a contextual behavioral approach. JCBS has been receiving an increasing number of submissions that compete for limited space for publication. A notable portion of submissions to JCBS are cross-sectional survey studies on psychological flexibility-related processes (e.g., validating these measures, testing their relation to mental health and related outcomes). In order to balance research on these topics with other important methodologies and research areas of CBS, we are unfortunately only able to accept especially innovative and rigorous research using cross-sectional survey designs, and typically only when submitted as a brief report. Special IssuesThe Journal welcomes suggestions for Special Issues. Proposals for a themed Special Issue should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief, Michael Levin at [email protected], and should include suggested Executive, Advisory or Guest Editors, a proposed call-for-papers, 6-10 provisional authors and topics (specific titles or general areas), a proposed timeline for submission, peer-reviewing, revision and publication. All manuscripts in a special issue will be subject to the normal process of peer-review.

Journal of Creativity

  • ISSN: 2713-3745
The official Journal of the Academy of Creativity The overarching aim of the Journal of Creativity (JoC) is to further our understanding of creativity. JoC will accomplish this by publishing original and scientifically-sound research on creativity and by encouraging the interdisciplinary study of creativity. It will maximize accessibility to scholars by limiting the length of articles to 10 printed pages and avoiding long entries. In addition, each article will include exploration of the implications of the research. Thus the understanding of creativity will be furthered in several ways. First JoC will publish rigorous research which will be published only after careful peer review. Second, JoC articles will each examine what the research means for "the real world and natural environment. Third, JoC will allow all disciplines to communicate about the topic of creativity. Each article will be well-connected to the existing creativity research (confirmed in part by the citations) and provide enough information in the description of the methodology to allow reviewers and readers to judge the validity of the work and to allow replication by others, if justified. Research examining the creative process, creative potential, creative products, the individual traits that contribute to creative achievement, and the environments which support or hinder creative efforts will all be published. This range of perspectives, along with the variety reflecting the interdisciplinarity of the JoC, will engage scholars and contribute to scientific advance. Such scientific advancement is expected, given what is known about creativity (e.g., that it benefits from the questioning of assumptions, flexibility, openness to alternatives) and in a sense gives JoC a meta-creative scope. The scope is further extended in that research on innovation will be considered, given that it depends on creative efforts. Indeed, submissions on innovation are encouraged because they are likely to lead directly to practical implications.

Journal of Economic Psychology

  • ISSN: 0167-4870
  • 5 Year impact factor: 3.6
  • Impact factor: 3.5
Research in Economic Psychology and Behavioral EconomicsAffiliated with the International Association for Research in Economic Psychology The Journal aims to present research that will improve understanding of behavioral, in particular psychological, aspects of economic decisions and processes. It is published under the auspices of the International Association for Research in Economic Psychology (http://www.iarep.org), whose aim is to promote interdisciplinary work relating to economic behavior. The Journal seeks to be a channel for the increased interest in using behavioral science methods for the study of economic behavior, and so to contribute to better solutions of societal problems, by stimulating new approaches and new theorizing about economic affairs. Economic psychology as a discipline studies the psychological mechanisms that underlie economic behavior. It deals with decisions (individual or interactive), preferences, judgments, and factors influencing these, as well as the consequences of judgments and decisions for economics and society. Studies in economic psychology usually relate to the individual decision maker's level, though sometimes also address household or group behavior. Historically, economic psychology has developed as a branch of psychology, while behavioral economics has risen as a sub-field of economics. Consequentially, for example, rationality assumptions have been traditionally avoided in economic psychology. Lately, however these differences are disappearing. We welcome any behavioral economics study to the journal of economic psychology. We also explicitly welcome studies in related domains including neuroeconomics, consumer psychology, voter psychology, and behavioral game theory, as long as they make a strong contribution to the understanding of psychological processes implicated in economic behavior and decisions. Additionally, we welcome submissions from traditional areas of economic psychology, including psychological aspects associated with inflation, unemployment, poverty, taxation, economic development, economic literacy, personal finance, and market behavior. The Journal of Economic Psychology contains: (a) Research articles: novel reports of empirical (field or experimental) research with a significant contribution to relevant theory; (b) brief reports: Empirical contributions (e.g., robustness tests), re-examinations and re-analyses, as well as short formal-analytical contributions linked to well-established empirical phenomena; (c) replication studies; (d) extensive reviews of state of the art topics in economic psychology; and (e) book reviews. Special issues of the Journal may be devoted to themes of particular interest. Typically, an open call for proposals for a special issue is announced once per year. Interested authors should check our detailed Guide for Authors and are also suggested to check http://alosferrer.wordpress.com.
