BrainScience

  • ISSN: 2666-5794
BrainScience is an open access journal which welcomes submissions from any area of brain research and neuroscience. The journal is distinguished by its innovative article evaluation and scoring system and aims to create a fairer and faster publishing process for authors by improving the traditional editorial process. Each submitted manuscript is given a score, which combines the ratings for scientific advance and methodological soundness of our peer reviewers into a single number, the BrainScience Score - an article-level quality metric linked to the paper not the journal. If authors approve, the paper is published in the journal with this BrainScience Score. Alternatively, authors are permitted to try to improve their manuscripts and score in one round of revision based on peer reviewers' comments. Thus, BrainScience offers a one-stop evaluation and publication process for all levels of work. BrainScience provides useful feedback, rigorous and transparent quality evaluation, and avoids multiple rounds of submission to different journals. Authors need to submit to only one journal and know that their manuscript will be published and its relative contribution to the field highlighted. BrainScience welcomes original research, review and opinion papers.

Cells & Development

  • ISSN: 2667-2901
  • 5 Year impact factor: 3.9
  • Impact factor: 3.9
Cell and Developmental Biology and their Quantitative approachesThe Official Journal of The International Society of Developmental Biologists Cells & Development is an international journal covering the areas of cell biology and developmental biology. In addition to publishing work at the interphase of these two disciplines, we also publish work that is purely cell biology as well as classical developmental biology. C&D is the official journal of The International Society of Developmental Biologists (ISDB) which supports the world-wide community of developmental biologists. Cells & Development will consider papers in any area of cell biology or developmental biology, in any model system like animals and plants, using a variety of approaches, such as cellular, biomechanical, molecular, quantitative, computational and theoretical biology. Areas of particular interest include: Cell and tissue morphogenesis Cell adhesion and migration Cell shape and polarity Biomechanics Theoretical modelling of cell and developmental biology Quantitative biology Stem cell biology Cell differentiation Cell proliferation and cell death Evo-Devo Membrane traffic Metabolic regulation Organ and organoid development Regeneration Publications at the interface of physics and biology often include theoretical work which is summarised in a short form in a Supplementary Text or Supplementary Theory. Authors may want to further describe, extend and give higher visibility to the theoretical work that they have published in this way. We are therefore pleased to announce that Cells & Development will now consider submissions of extended and more detailed versions of Supplementary Theory material published in other biological or generalist journals. To be considered, these articles must introduce significant additional material and discussion of previously published results. They must explicitly refer to the article where the Supplementary Theory text was originally published. Reproduction of the previously published figures or text materials should be minimal and appropriately referenced, in accordance with copyright requirements of the other journal. With this initiative, Cells & Development is aiming at promoting quantitative approaches to biology by giving the opportunity to theorists to better explain and highlight their contribution to multidisciplinary studies. Cells & Development does not publish descriptive studies of gene expression patterns and molecular screens; for submission of such studies see Gene Expression Patterns.

Clinical Neurophysiology

  • ISSN: 1388-2457
  • 5 Year impact factor: 4.5
  • Impact factor: 4.7
Official Organ of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology, the Brazilian Society of Clinical Neurophysiology, the Czech Society of Clinical Neurophysiology, and the International Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology. SCOPE OF THE JOURNAL: Clinical Neurophysiology is dedicated to publishing scholarly reports on the pathophysiology underlying diseases of the peripheral and central nervous system of humans. Reports on clinical trials that use neurophysiological measures as endpoints are encouraged, as are manuscripts on integrated neuroimaging of peripheral and central nervous function including, but not limited to, functional MRI, brain mapping, MEG, EEG, PET, ultrasound, and other neuroimaging modalities. Studies on normal human neurophysiology are welcome, if they are relevant to disease or clinical applications. Studies on animals and technical reports must have clear applicability to human disease. Case reports may be considered (exclusively as Letters-to-the-Editor), if implying substantial advancement of knowledge. Clinical Neurophysiology covers epilepsy, developmental clinical neurophysiology, psychophysiology and psychopathology, motor control and movement disorders, somatosensory disorders including pain, motor neuron diseases, neuromuscular diseases, neuropathies, sleep and disorders of consciousness, auditory and vestibular disorders, aging, Alzheimer's disease, other dementias, other psychiatric disorders, autonomic disorders, neural plasticity and recovery, intraoperative and ICU monitoring, and therapeutic clinical neurophysiology including non-invasive and invasive brain stimulation. All studies published in Clinical Neurophysiology must stand on their own and make a substantial contribution to the literature. The journal does not afford a high priority to 'pilot' or 'preliminary' studies or to negative studies that do not advance knowledge. Reports with a focus on education or clinical practice, case reports, methodological and technical reports and studies reporting normative data on healthy subjects are preferentially being considered in Clinical Neurophysiology Practice, a companion journal of Clinical Neurophysiology. AUDIENCE: Neurologists, Clinical Neurophysiologists, Neuroscientists, Neuroimagers, Psychiatrists, Neuropsychologists, Neurosurgeons See also the BRAND NEW Companion Journal Clinical Neurophysiology Practice

Clinical Neurophysiology Practice

  • ISSN: 2467-981X
  • 5 Year impact factor: 3.1
  • Impact factor: 1.7
Official Organ of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology.Clinical Neurophysiology Practice is a companion journal to Clinical Neurophysiology Clinical Neurophysiology Practice (CNP) is a new Open Access journal that focuses on clinical practice issues in clinical neurophysiology including relevant new research, case reports or clinical series, normal values and didactic reviews. It is an official journal of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology and complements Clinical Neurophysiology which focuses on innovative research in the specialty. It has a role in supporting established clinical practice, and an educational role for trainees, technicians and practitioners.Types of manuscripts for consideration include: educational reviews and expert-consensus clinical practice guidelines, original research papers (including papers reporting normative data), extended case reports, systematic reviews, editorials, and Letters to the Editor. As a journal devoted to education and evidence-based clinical practice in the specialty, the priorities for Clinical Neurophysiology Practice differ from those of our companion IFCN journal Clinical Neurophysiology. Novelty is a critical issue for research-focused journals such as Clinical Neurophysiology, but is less important for Clinical Neurophysiology Practice. Quality papers may be rejected by research-focused journals because the studies do not report new advances in knowledge or are of low (research) impact, or because studies are deemed incremental, confirmatory, negative or outside journal priorities. However in clinical practice negative studies may be just as important as positive studies, and well-conceived papers reporting negative data or confirmatory results are welcome because clinical advances need confirmation before they are introduced into clinical care. Similarly, case reports can be particularly educational and are welcome. Case reports must have a neurophysiological focus and illustrate the diagnostic process, using figures that are of high quality. These reports are not specifically limited in length, the number of figures or the number of references.
