  • 5 Year impact factor: 5.1
  • Impact factor: 5.8
There is increasing scientific and clinical interest in the interactions of nutrition and health as part of the aging process. This interest is due to the important role that nutrition plays throughout the life span. This role affects the growth and development of the body during childhood, affects the risk of acute and chronic diseases, the maintenance of physiological processes and the biological process of aging. A major aim of "The Journal of nutrition, health & aging" is to contribute to the improvement of knowledge regarding the relationships between nutrition and the aging process from birth to old age. Be the main outlet for high-level publications in the field of nutrition and exercise for healthy longevity. Attract studies from translational sciences (basic science with strong potential for translation to humans in the short-term) to clinical research and public health on aging. A particular interest will be devoted for publishing articles in topics related to the role of nutrition on healthy longevity, functional capacity, intrinsic capacity, resilience, geroscience, and geriatric syndromes, such as frailty and sarcopenia. Studies related with the role of nutrition and exercise on a life course perspective are welcome. Randomized clinical trials on healthy longevity are of particular interest. Studies investigating the role of specific nutrients as well as diets and dietary patterns on functional capacity and healthy longevity are appreciated, especially when using a longitudinal design. Be a forum for the debates around nutrition and healthy longevity, from applied basic science to clinical and public health research.
