Supervision and Assessment for Advanced Practice

Robust practice supervision and support is vital to enable and support the transition of trainee advanced practitioners. Across the UK standards from regulatory bodies provide detail of supervision and assessment requirements for approved programmes. However, as advanced practice is not yet regulated or approved by regulatory bodies (and there is just now consultation on this matter), it has developed organically, and Higher Education Institutions and practice partners can and have set their own standards. Building on the recent HEE proposed framework standards, Supervision and Assessment in Advanced Practice proposes a multi-professional approach that provides a clear roadmap and consistent guidance for people wishing to pursue advanced practice from both a trainee and qualified advanced practitioner perspective. Taking a holistic approach, the guidance in this book will be suitable for all four UK nations. This is the first book for advanced practitioners to cover the essential topic of supervision and assessment in depth. It will be relevant across professional groups and its breadth of content will make it pertinent for advanced practitioners across the UK and Europe.
