Luca Turella
Throughout his academic career, the core interest of Dr. Turella’s research has been the understanding of the functioning of the motor system. His scientific interests bridge motor control with cognitive processing and seek to understand the behavioral processes and neural correlates, using a combination of classical behavioral and kinematic studies together with neuroscience techniques (fMRI, TMS, MEG). His scientific publications are in some of the most prestigious journals in cognitive neuroscience with over 500 citations.

Michael Vesia
Dr. Michael Vesia completed his doctorate in Kinesiology and Health Sciences under the supervision of Drs. Douglas Crawford and Lauren Sergio at the world-renowned Centre for Vision Research at York University. After his PhD, he pursued postdoctoral training funded by the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation with Drs. Richard Staines and Sandra Black at the University of Waterloo and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He is currently working with Dr. Robert Chen, an internationally renowned expert in human neurophysiology and movement disorders at Toronto Western Research Institute. His research focuses on 1) how the brain uses sensory information to guide action, 2) the influence of sensory-motor input and non-invasive brain stimulation on cortical inhibition, facilitation and their interaction, 3) how plasticity induction protocols influence sensorimotor function and motor learning. By corollary, his research is aimed at understanding the effects of disease, injury, and sensorimotor disorders to aid in the development of evidence-based, patient-specific intervention strategies. He has published in many top-tier journals in cognitive neuroscience, including Experimental Brain Research, Journal of Neurophysiology, Cerebral Cortex and Journal of Neuroscience.
