The Journal of Aging Studies features scholarly articles offering theoretically engaged interpretations that challenge existing theory and empirical work. Articles need not deal with the field of aging as a whole, but with any defensibly relevant topic pertinent to the aging experience and related to the broad concerns and subject matter of the social and behavioral sciences and the humanities. The journal emphasizes innovation and critique - new directions in general - regardless of theoretical or methodological orientation or academic discipline. Energy Economics is the premier field journal for energy economics and energy finance. Themes include, but are not limited to, the exploitation, conversion and use of energy, markets for energy commodities and derivatives, regulation and taxation, forecasting, environment and climate, international trade, development, and monetary policy. Contributions to the journal can use a range of methods, if appropriately and rigorously applied, including but not limited to experiments, surveys, econometrics, decomposition, simulation models, equilibrium models, optimization models, and analytical models.Submitted papers must be replicable. Submitted papers are typically pre-reviewed by the editor-in-chief and the handling editor. Papers generally need two or more positive review reports to be invited for a revise-and-resubmit.... policy Energy Economics publishes an eclectic mix of papers using a wide variety of methods to shed light on a range of topics. Our replication policy reflects this, and is applied in spirit rather than to the letter. We encourage the submission of replication studies. Replication studies should reproduce the key results of the original study, replicate them and extend them in a substantive way, while explaining the differences.For econometric papers, authors should provide program(s) and data set(s), plus a readme file on how to replicate each table, graph and other result. Ideally, there will be one command to reproduce the entire paper. Use of interactive software is discouraged. The readme file should identify the software and toolboxes used. If data are proprietary, the readme file should make clear how data can be obtained. For experimental and survey-based papers, authors should provide the original instructions (plus an English translation if applicable), information about subject eligibility and selection, the raw data, and any program used to analyze the data. For analytic papers, authors should provide data and programs used for the simulations (if any). Detailed derivations and proofs should be placed in an appendix. For papers using simulation, equilibrium or optimization models, authors should provide data and programs. If data or programs are proprietary, unambiguous information on the version should be provided, plus information on how data or programs can be obtained. Small models developed in-house should be provided. For large models developed in-house, a standard version should be provided together with a detailed description of the changes made for the version used in the paper at hand. Environmental Science & Policy advances research in the intersections between environmental science, policy and society. Established in 1947, Research in Economics is one of the oldest general-interest economics journals in the world and the main one among those based in Italy. The purpose of the journal is to select original theoretical and empirical articles that will have high impact on the debate in the social sciences; since 1947, it has published important research contributions on a wide range of topics.A summary of our editorial policy is this: the editors make a preliminary assessment of whether the results of a paper, if correct, are worth publishing. If so one of the associate editors reviews the paper: from the reviewer we expect to learn if the paper is understandable and coherent and - within reasonable bounds - the results are correct.We believe that long lags in publication and multiple demands for revision simply slow scientific progress. Our goal is to provide you a definitive answer within one month of submission. We give the editors one week to judge the overall contribution and if acceptable send your paper to an associate editor. We expect the associate editor to provide a more detailed evaluation within three weeks so that the editors can make a final decision before the month expires.In the (rare) case of a revision we allow four months and in the case of conditional acceptance we allow two months to submit the final version. In both cases we expect a cover letter explaining how you met the requirements. For conditional acceptance the editors will verify that the requirements were met. Here too perspectives may vary. Education is designed to promote human capability and better the chances for social justice, promote competitiveness and productivity; reduce inequality, poverty and disease; mitigate conflict and crisis. At the same time, education is also being scrutinized for entrenching differences; challenging local values and culture; and for fostering counterproductive experiences of many pupils.The International Journal of Educational Development is concerned with education in its broadest sense, including formal and non-formal modes, from preschool to adult education. IJED is interested in comparative studies that lead to new insights and challenge orthodox theories; that have potential for policy impact; and that apply to broad range of settings, including industrial democracies as well as low and middle income countries, countries in political transition and countries recovering from armed conflict and social unrest. The IJED also considers papers that look at education and development through the policies and practices of official development assistance and commercial education trade. The IJED does not encourage articles which may be more appropriate for journals of pedagogy, education technology and psychology unless the relevance to feasible public policy is clearly demonstrated. IJED engages these approaches to deepen understanding of the relationship between education policy and development. Further, the IJED does not encourage articles that focus on a certain methodological approach as the central topic of interest. Instead, we encourage the appropriate use of both qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques as means to shed light on key problems of educational policy and development. The Official Journal of The College on Problems of Drug DependenceDrug and Alcohol Dependence is an international journal devoted to publishing original research including clinical trials, basic and human experimental designs, large epidemiological studies, and scholarly review articles in the area of drug, alcohol and tobacco use and dependence. Articles range from studies of the chemistry of substances of use, their actions at molecular and cellular sites, in vitro and in vivo investigations of their biochemical, pharmacological and behavioral actions, laboratory-based and clinical research in humans, substance use treatment and prevention research, and studies employing methods from epidemiology, sociology, and economics.The rationale for this extensive coverage is the conviction that drug, alcohol and tobacco use/dependence cannot be understood in their entirety from a single perspective and that without an understanding of other areas of research, studies by individual investigators may be limited. Marine Policy is the leading journal of ocean policy studies. Submissions to Marine Policy must contribute to the formulation and understanding of marine policy, and must be of interest to a broad audience of academics, stakeholders and officials. Marine Policy offers researchers, analysts, stakeholders and policy-makers a unique combination of analyses in the principal social science disciplines relevant to the formulation of marine policy. Articles represent perspectives from fields such as marine affairs, marine economics and resource management, political science, marine science, human ecology, international law, geography, normative theory, anthropology and similar disciplines. Focal areas include, but are not limited to: international, regional and national marine policies; institutional arrangements for the management and regulation of marine activities; conflict resolution; marine pollution and environment; conservation and use of marine resources.We are not a technical journal and will recommend that overly-technical papers are transferred to other more relevant journals. We will consider policy papers that do include a technical analysis, but only if this directly informs a policy analysis or discussion. We request that authors minimise the inclusion of formulas and model details needed to explain the methods and analysis in the main text. Detailed formulae and calculations should be included in an appendix or supplementary materials, and summarised in the main text.Submissions to Marine Policy must include a cover letter that briefly describes the background for the paper and its significance for marine policy formulation and understanding. The cover letter should also note any related work that may be publicly available, such as a Doctoral or Masters thesis, institutional report, etc, so as to avoid any misunderstandings regarding plagiarism. The cover letter should also note any ethics processes and considerations if your study included field research, human research (i.e interviews, quantitative or qualitative surveys, ethnographic observations etc) or animal research.The submission must include an abstract of approximately 250 words that is self-contained and readable on its own. Addictive Behaviors is an international peer-reviewed journal publishing high quality human research on addictive behaviors and disorders since 1975. TRD includes a section focusing on Disasters and Resilience with its own dedicated Section Editors. Transportation plays a critical role in the resilience of communities. Disasters are unexpected, low probability events which can overwhelm the capacity of systems to function and provide vital services supporting human health, environmental quality, and economic and social livelihoods. Transportation systems are essential to effective disaster response, relief, recovery, and mitigation.
