Brain, Behavior, and Immunity
Brain, Behavior, and Immunity, founded in 1987, is the official journal of the Psychoneuroimmunolog... Research Society (PNIRS). This innovative journal publishes peer-reviewed basic, experimental, and clinical studies dealing with behavioral, neural, endocrine, and immune system interactions in humans and animals. It is an international, interdisciplinary journal devoted to original research in neuroscience, immunology, integrative physiology, behavioral biology, psychiatry, psychology, and clinical medicine and is inclusive of research at the molecular, cellular, social, and whole organism level. The journal features online submission and review. Manuscripts are typically peer-reviewed and returned to authors within 30 days of submission, leading to timely publication of experimental results. There are no submission fees or page charges for Brain, Behavior, and Immunity, which is published eight times a year.Research areas include:Physiologica... mechanisms that convey messages between the immune and nervous systems and regulate their functionsStress and immunity, including the role of stress-related hormones and neurotransmitters on the immune system.Actions of cytokines, growth factors and PAMP activation on neuronal and glial cells that regulate behavior, learning, memory and neurogenesisRole of hormones, growth factors and cytokines in the immune and central or peripheral nervous systemsInteractions between the immune system and brain that are involved in development of neurological, psychiatric, and mental health disordersRole of immunological processes in neurodegenerative disordersThe effects of psychotropic medications on immunological mechanisms and their potential relevance to therapeutic interventionsNeuroim... studies examining how immunological mechanisms affect brain structure and functionClinical trials and experimental studies testing the effects on both immune stimulation and immune suppression on brain and behaviorThe role of microglia in pain, psychological processes and in psychiatric disordersImmunologic... mechanisms involved in traumatic brain injury and its resolutionImmunologi... disorders, infection and behaviorRole of the immune system in development and maintenance of inflammatory and chronic painImmune mechanisms that regulate the blood-brain-interfac... Progress in Retinal and Eye Research
Progress in Retinal and Eye Research is a Reviews-only journal. By invitation, leading experts write on basic and clinical aspects of the eye in a style appealing to molecular biologists, neuroscientists and physiologists, as well as to vision researchers and ophthalmologists. The journal covers all aspects of eye research, including topics pertaining to the retina and pigment epithelial layer, cornea, tears, lacrimal glands, aqueous humour, iris, ciliary body, trabeculum, lens, vitreous humour and diseases such as dry-eye, inflammation, keratoconus, corneal dystrophy, glaucoma and cataract.Any queries with proposals for Review Articles can be sent directly to Alan Stitt, Editor in Chief.- ISSN: 1350-9462

Hormones and Behavior
Official Journal of the Society for Behavioral NeuroendocrinologyHo... and Behavior publishes original research articles, reviews, commentaries, perspectives and special issues concerning hormone-brain-behavi... relationships, broadly defined. The journal welcomes studies conducted on species ranging from invertebrates to mammals, including studies of humans. Also included is work addressing neuroendocrine-behav... relationships, neuroendocrine and endocrine mechanisms controlling the development or adult expression of behavior as well as studies of the environmental control and evolutionary significance of hormone-brain-behavi... relationships. Studies with an emphasis on molecular, neuroanatomical, or non-neural systems are also welcome when relevant to endocrine signaling and behavior. The journal's scope ranges from laboratory and field studies concerning neuroendocrine as well as endocrine mechanisms controlling the development or adult expression of behavior to studies concerning the environmental control and evolutionary significance of hormone-behavior relationships.- ISSN: 0018-506X

Neuroscience Letters
Neuroscience Letters is devoted to the rapid publication of high-quality articles of interest to the broad community of neuroscientists. Only articles which will make a significant addition to the literature in the field will be published.Manuscript... in all areas of neuroscience, including molecular, cellular, developmental, systems, behavioral, cognitive, and computational will be considered for publication. Specific topics of interest include (but are not limited to):Neurons and gliaNervous system development and structureExcitable membranesSynaptic transmissionSensory and motor systemsPain - central and peripheral mechanismsAutonomic regulationDisorders of the nervous systemBehaviorCentra... nervous system (CNS) imagingSubmission of laboratory investigations that shed light on normal structure and function of the nervous system or on disease mechanisms are equally encouraged. Clinical studies will also be considered if they provide new information about organization or actions of the nervous system, or provide new insights into the neurobiology of disease. Neuroscience Letters does not publish Case Reports, Meta-analyses, or Literature Reviews in either the basic or clinical sciences.Special Issues, edited by Guest Editors to cover new and rapidly-moving areas, will include invited Mini-Reviews as well as related articles submitted in the regular manner. Standard Mini-Reviews are by invitation, or in response to the Editor-in-Chief's approval of a pre-submission enquiry.- ISSN: 0304-3940
