Journal of Fluency Disorders is included in Medline.As the official journal of the World Stuttering & Cluttering Organization (WSCO) and recognized as the only journal devoted specifically to speech fluency disorders, the Journal of Fluency Disorders provides comprehensive coverage of clinical, experimental and theoretical aspects of speech fluency disorders, in particular of stuttering and cluttering, including contemporary and evidence-based interventions. The journal publishes scientific articles on all topics related to speech fluency disorders. Authors are encouraged to submit original research articles, review articles, methodological articles, short communications, and letters to the editor. Alcohol
Alcohol is an international, peer-reviewed journal that is devoted to publishing multi-disciplinary biomedical research on all aspects of the actions or effects of alcohol on the nervous system or on other organ systems. Emphasis is given to studies into the causes and consequences of alcohol abuse and alcoholism, and biomedical aspects of diagnosis, etiology, treatment or prevention of alcohol-related health effects.Intended for both research scientists and practicing clinicians, the journal publishes original research on the neurobiological, neurobehavioral, and pathophysiological processes associated with alcohol drinking, alcohol abuse, alcohol-seeking behavior, tolerance, dependence, withdrawal, protracted abstinence, and relapse. In addition, the journal reports studies on the effects alcohol on brain mechanisms of neuroplasticity over the life span, biological factors associated with adolescent alcohol abuse, pharmacotherapeutic strategies in the treatment of alcoholism, biological and biochemical markers of alcohol abuse and alcoholism, pathological effects of uncontrolled drinking, biomedical and molecular factors in the effects on liver, immune system, and other organ systems, and biomedical aspects of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder including mechanisms of damage, diagnosis and early detection, treatment, and prevention. Articles are published from all levels of biomedical inquiry, including the following: molecular and cellular studies of alcohol's actions in vitro and in vivo; animal model studies of genetic, pharmacological, behavioral, developmental or pathophysiological aspects of alcohol; human studies of genetic, behavioral, cognitive, neuroimaging, or pathological aspects of alcohol drinking; clinical studies of diagnosis (including dual diagnosis), treatment, prevention, and epidemiology. The journal will publish 9 issues per year; the accepted abbreviation for Alcohol for bibliographic citation is Alcohol.Alcohol subscribes to the tenets of The Farmington Consensus. Submission of a paper to the journal will be taken as evidence that the authors have complied with the tenets set forth in the Consensus. All submitted material will be subject to peer review. Alcohol considers three types of manuscripts for publication:- Original research articles are full-length reports of the authors' original research addressing topics consistent with the Aims and Scope of the journal. Submissions outside the scope of the journal, or incomplete or fragmentary submissions, will not be considered.- Rapid communications are original, high-quality manuscripts that describe new data of high impact and major importance to the field. These contributions are typically short (e.g., 4 journal pages), and will be peer-reviewed by at least one expert in the field of the research and an Editor, and will be either accepted with minimal or no revisions or rejected. Publication of accepted rapid communications will be expedited.- Invited review articles will be considered for publication, upon invitation from the Editor-in-Chief, as full-length papers or mini-reviews. The Official Journal of the Association for Veterinary Teaching and Research Work.Research in Veterinary Science is an international multi-disciplinary journal publishing novel original research and high-impact reviews of great scientific and ethical standard in all aspects of veterinary and comparative biomedical research. The primary aim of the journal is to inform the veterinary and biomedical research community of significant scientific advances and teaching methods in the field of veterinary education, and to provide a multidisciplinary forum for the discussion and debate of novel biomedical research and teaching within a "One-Health" context. The journal achieves these goals through the prompt promotion and dissemination of high-quality scientific knowledge to a broad range of professionals globally.The journal encourages the submission of high-quality novel research that has clear implications for the prevention, treatment, or control of zoonotic and animal diseases, including improved understanding of disease pathogenesis and epidemiology, and that therefore contribute to a substantial improvement of animal and human health. Papers studying the origin, pathogenesis, and spread of diseases, as well as new or improved methods of diagnosis and treatment, or describing novel aspects of immunology, physiology and welfare in animals of veterinary concern are explicitly welcome.Studies that lack novelty or scientific rigor, including studies without a robust scientific hypothesis or that are preliminary or of low scientific impact, are not appropriate for the journal. Furthermore, poorly designed and controlled studies, studies that lack appropriate replication or that for other reasons lack generalizability including studies that are not generalizable beyond a local or limited geographic area, and case studies or field reports lacking an advancement in general knowledge do not fall within the scope of the journal. Trends in Molecular Medicine
Trends in Molecular Medicine objective is to provide concise and contextualized views on the latest research moving biomedical science closer to improved diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of human diseases. As such, TMM is dedicated to research disciplines at the interface between basic biology and clinical research. Articles cover new concepts in mechanisms of human biology and pathology with clear implications for diagnostics and therapy. Reports of an applied clinical character are also welcome. Papers concerned with normal metabolic processes or with constituents of normal cells or body fluids, such as reports of experimental or clinical studies in animals, are only considered when they are clearly and directly relevant to human disease. More specifically the synthesis (automated and manual), in vitro and ex vivo studies, in vivo biodistribution by dissection or imaging, radiopharmacology, radiopharmacy of new radiopharmaceuticals... Translational studies of novel targeted radiopharmaceuticals... e.g. first in human use, are warmly welcomed. In addition, in vivo imaging studies using radioactive tracers for physiological and pathophysiological research or drug discovery support are welcome. In all cases, the importance of the target to an unmet clinical need should be the first consideration.These multidisciplinary studies should validate the mechanism of localization whether the tracer is based on binding to a receptor, enzyme, antigen, or another well-defined target. The studies should be aimed at evaluating how the chemical and radiopharmaceutical properties affect pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, or therapeutic efficacy. Ideally, the study would address the sensitivity of the tracer to changes in disease or treatment, although studies validating mechanism alone are acceptable as well.
