Description

Atlas of Polymer Structures: Morphology, Deformation and Fracture Structures

provides, with high quality micrographs, a comprehensive overview of the structural/morphological diversity of all classes of plastics.

The book includes all microscopic techniques, from light microscopy, through scanning and transmission electron microscopy, to scanning force microscopy.

In addition, it focuses on the changes occurring under mechanical load to the morphology of the plastics, i.e., the deformation and fracture of the structures. Included images clearly demonstrate the structure-property correlations of polymer materials, and are intended not only for professionals in research and application fields, but also to improve training and teaching at universities.

Key features

  • Provides a comprehensive overview of the structural/morphological diversity of all classes of plastics
  • Focuses on the changes occurring under mechanical load to the morphology of the plastics, i.e., the deformation and fracture of structures
  • Included images demonstrate the structure-property correlations of polymer materials

Readership

Experts in research, development, and use of polymeric materials in industry, research institutions, and universities. Those interested in the microstructure of materials and in the elucidation of structures with microscopic methods. Students and trainees in the fields of plastics engineering, materials science, and related fields
